Road America GG, 2021
Ride, show, or hang out. This is the Big One!
Here's the deal!
July 24-25 is a 2-day trackday at Road America, hosted by Sportbike Tracktime. We are going to show up at their event for our rendezvous.
IF YOU KNOW ANYONE ELSE WHO MAY BE INTERESTED, SEND THEM TO THIS PAGE!
Road America's website is here: https://www.roadamerica.com/

We are planning to stay at this hotel in nearby Plymouth, Wisconsin:
Holly and I stayed there last last year and it was lovely! Walking distance to lots of shops and restaurants, good price, nice rooms. We really liked it. So if we all stay there, we can easily connect for dinners, socializing, etc.
This cool place is just down the street and looks adorable, not sure about their parking, however:

We plan to rent garage spaces, so our bikes are indoors , we have shade and power, and bikes sheltered. Renting space is done by people riding at the event, and I am NOT paying for this! But we should coordinate and get adjacent spaces. More details to come on that. But it makes a great place to hang out and escape the sun if needed.
So for now, this is the early info. People who want to ride, can sign up with Sportbike Tracktime. Yes, it's spendy. And it's worth it. This is a bucket list track, for sure. Here's a lap onboard my TL1000S, a not particularly fast old bike doing a decent intermediate time. This is about how an average RG would go as far as speed. 2:45 is an OK lap. Fast guys are 20 seconds under that!

I plan to ride intermediate on day 1 and advanced on day 2.
If you don't feel like riding, no worries! Just come and hang out for the weekend! There's good track food, great track visibility from all around the facility, trees, shade, you name it. Bring something that can get you around the pits , roads and side trails, as the track is 4.0 MILES LONG and has spectating almost all the way around, from both sides.
Don't put this off "till next time" or find excuses not to come. These little get togethers are getting fewer and farther between... and we already have a number of guys who can no longer attend for physical reasons. Just come and reconnect with the gang for a weekend!
If you ride the event, STT allows you to carry a passenger in the last novice session of the day. Full track gear and waiver are required. I do this with Holly and we have a BLAST (2-up track laps). Your wife, kid, etc will probably blow a fuse if you take them out for a few laps. And it really changes their experience of the weekend. 8-)
I'm contacting people all week to see what things look like.
